If you live under a rock, you may not know that right here in Richmond resides a Yacht Rock tribute band that is unrivaled in their smoothness and awesomeness.  They are 3 Sheets to the Wind, and they have an official twitter that keeps Richmond updated as to their appearances, their travels, and the riotous good times their presence always produces.  The band members are Danny Marnier, Sonny Pockett, Captain Max Power, Walter Ego, Topper Dandy, and Bobby Bravado.  Are those their real names?  Who cares?  That’s who they ARE, Man.

And most, most importantly, when you hear they will be playing somewhere, do yourself a favor and go.  Put on your sailor hat and your boat shoes and get ready for hits made famous by bands such as Ambrosia, Billy Ocean, Christopher Cross, Hall & Oates, Doobie Brothers, Kenny Loggins, Michael McDonald, and more.  If you’re lucky, you can catch a moonlight ride on the James and enjoy their music the way you were meant to – tipsy and seasick.  Just kidding about that last part.  Or am I?

Oh, and did I mention 3 Sheets to the Wind was recently voted 2011′s Best Local Band by Richmond Magazine?  That’s right.  Richmond gets it.
